Recorded and produced in May 1991 by Paolo Favati (Pankow) in his Blue Velvet Studio in Florence, OUR MARY OF CANCER was released in a limited edition of 666 copies on blood-red vinyl. There is no conventional cover but an inlay with the artwork on one side and info on the other. The record sold out in no time, and is a sought after collector's item today and one of LIMBO's classics.
The musical spectrum on OUR MARY OF CANCER ranges from rather electro/gothic-influenced tracks over noise/industrial compositions to apocalyptic folk. Pankow's Alex Spalck contributed the German vocals for "God Sperm, Dog Sperm" and "Himmel Und Hoelle", Elena Margolo from Brazil added backing vocals to "Hermaphrodita" and "Satan Believes In Simon". The latter, together with its complementary track "Lord Believes In Simon" and the instrumentals "White Metal" and "Black Water" set the frame for the dense, eery atmosphere of the album.
The conceptual frame was set by Becuzzi dealing with the polar energies under an esoteric key, with those doctrines more dealt with under intellectual curiosity and cultural interest rather than a proclamation of faith.
After years of collaboration Giovanni Fiaschi (violin on "Himmel und Hoelle", "Hermaphrodita" and "Ars Alchymiae") officially joins the line-up together with guitarist/bassist Silvio Pucci (acoustic guitar on "Hermaphrodita" and "Devastate E Liberate").
